Welcome!

Welcome to The MAC...in other words, The Music and Arts Collaborative!

The MAC is a new idea that will provide both artists and musicians with studio space to create and perform right here in Chicago (Edgewater), as well as show portfolios and sell work.

As an artist, I know how hard it is to get your name out there and obtain shows and studio space at a reasonable price (especially when we are starving artists). I thought to myself, "wouldn't it be great if there was something out there that would provide artists with a space for creating work at a reasonable price?" Well, why shouldn't I be able to create it myself. Since I also have a love for music, I thought why not combine the two?

Introducing The MAC. There will be ten studio spaces available for artists or musicians to rent. The rent price depends on the size of the studio. Studios will be between $250-$500 per month and include all utilities (internet is $10 per month extra). If you have a friend that wants to join you in renting a studio to split the cost, feel free to run it by me and we can arrange it! If you refer a friend to rent a studio you get $50 off of rent per month for six months! (Contracts for studios will be for 1 year terms)

There is also a classroom area where classes will be taught so if you would like to teach a class, you get paid for it! There will be adult and children's classes and if you do a specific type of art, or music, feel free to apply to teach a course!

In the main gallery, artists can apply to have an art show (renters can show for free without fees). Also, the main gallery will be used for bands to play shows and sell their music. A cover charge per person will be charged for shows.

The MAC is currently looking for artists and musicians to rent out studios. Again, this is still an idea in my head and in order to make it work, I need to find a community of 8 (or more) artists to rent out studio space. If you feel like this is something you would love to be a part of, please feel free to contact me. If you have any questions, don't hesitate to ask.

My timeline is rough at the moment. The sooner more people get interested, the better. I am hoping to having the facility up and running by September or October.

Again, please feel free to contact me. I would really love there to be a place like this in Chicago!
